Birmingham Broker

Birmingham Broker is an internet based automobile broker that also has a retail presence in Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham Broker was developed by Craig Westbrook and Derrick Tarn in 2008. Birmingham Broker sells cars for professionals who do not have the time to sell their car and do not want to trade it in for less than the market value of the vehicle. Birmingham Broker helps individuals sell their vehicles and also provides high quality autos for sale to the Birmingham market as well as nationwide through their website. The selling charge to a customer listing their vehicle is a minimal fee or percentage of the selling price. This insures that vehicles are sold in a reasonable amount of time and at a fair price to both the buyer and seller. Birmingham Broker helps sellers with everything from photography, marketing, lien payoffs, trade-ins, financing, detailing, and reconditioning. The company sells a variety of vehicles from luxury automobiles to trucks, motorcycles, exotics, and collector cars.

Craig Westbrook, Owner and Co-Founder

Before venturing out into small business ownership, Craig's career was in Residential New Construction Real Estate. Craig decided to make his luxury car passion a career when the real estate market experienced major changes last June and has not looked back since.

It wasn't a surprise to friends and family that Craig chose his love for automobiles as a career. He has been brokering high-end cars for many years as a hobby. Craig's interest developed at a young age, through growing up in a family of Porsche drivers which sowed the seed for him to be smitten with European cars.

Craig is married to wife, Kathrene, and has a beautiful one-year old daughter, Baines. They attend the Church of the Highlands. As you can tell from the collection of wall to wall music art posters that line his office and the occasional loud stream of the Fiery Furnaces coming from his office, Craig's extracurricular passions include music and art.

Derrick Tarn, Owner and Co-Founder

Derrick has been an automotive enthusiast since childhood. Prior to the inception of Birmingham Broker he had a career as a banking executive specializing in all financial aspects of the automotive industry, as well as being a partner in previous successful independent automobile dealerships. Compared to other dealerships he has been involved with in the past Derrick feels that Birmingham Broker has the best team and business plan focused on offering its customers a unique personal experience whether they are purchasing a daily vehicle or the crowning piece on their personal collection. Derrick specializes in personal automobile location, automobile buying, and running the day-to-day business aspects of Birmingham Broker.

Outside of the car business and his personal car collecting, Derrick has two young daughters and enjoys his extensive watch collecting hobby.

Bo Thuston, Outside Sales

Bo met Craig and Derrick at a social event and decided they were two of the best salesmen he had met in his career. They look out for their clients and are passionate about their work.

He decided to join Bham Broker in August 2009 and has not regretted his decision a minute. He says nothing is better than being surrounded by friendly, happy people and an amazing assortment of cool, high-end cars.

He has been married to his wife Susan, an artist, for over thirty years and has two grown sons. His son Walker is 29 and works as a Construction Project Manager. Robert is 27 and an environmentalist with a major utility. Like their father, the boys like fishing, the outdoors and football.

Bo thinks it great being the oldest at Bham Broker, at 62, because he actually drove all the classic muscle cars back in the 60's!

Stacey Spencer, Secretary

Stacey joined Bham Broker in June 2009. Stacey worked in advertising and enjoyed daily trips to Ocean Beach in California for seven years before returning to Birmingham and coming to work for Bham Broker. She posts for our site and Facebook page, updates internet advertisements and assists with the daily office routine.

Leo Carreon, Detail

Leo Carreon came to Birmingham from Los Angeles back in 1994. His hobbies are going to the gym after work and working on his 1985 Cadillac. He likes working at Bham Broker because everyone is really nice.

Adam Colbert, Special Events Photographer

After graduating from Birmingham Southern in 2005 and working in the corporate world for three years, Adam decided to pursue his passion of photography full-time. Since then, his work has taken him around the country, from Seattle to Long Island, allowing him to, as he says, "Tell the story, photographically, for both his clients and his personal work."

Adam shoots locally for Summer Classics and Birmingham Home and Garden. His favorite aspects of photographing for Bham Broker are working with their staff and shooting a wide array of unique automobiles.
