    Dealer Notes

This is a 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S finished in Black on Black, showing 73,239 miles. Priced at $49,959 ranked #1 of 9 in the regional comparable set on price. The single most important fact about this car: it is a 997.2, not a 997.1.Every 2009 Carrera and Carrera S (non-Turbo) was built on the second-generation 997 platform with the all-new 9A1 (MA1) direct-injection flat-six engine. That engine eliminated the intermediate shaft entirely meaning no IMS bearing, no IMS bearing failure risk, and no IMS retrofit decision to make. The 9A1 also resolved the bore-scoring issues that affected earlier M96/M97 engines. This is the Carrera that Porsche enthusiasts and independent specialists consistently recommend as the safest used 911 to buy outside of a GT car.Powertrain highlights:
    3.8L flat-six with Direct Fuel Injection 385 horsepower, 310 lb-ft of torque
9A1 (MA1.01) engine closed-deck AluSil block, no IMS bearing, no bore-score concerns
060 mph in 4.5 seconds (4.3 with PDK and Sport Chrono launch control)
    Top speed 188 mph
[TRANSMISSION confirm: 6-speed manual or 7-speed PDK dual-clutch]
What sets the 997.2 apart from earlier 911s:
New direct-injection engine (no shared parts with the troubled M96/M97 family)
Updated PCM3 infotainment with touchscreen and Bluetooth
Refreshed front fascia with LED daytime running lights
    Revised LED tail lights
Optional PDK transmission (replacing the older Tiptronic)
The last hydraulically-assisted-steering, naturally-aspirated 911 Carrera before Porsche moved to electric power steering and turbocharging a meaningful detail to driving-focused buyers
    This specific car:
70 high-resolution photos documenting every panel, the full interior, engine bay, and underside
Black exterior the most resale-stable color in the 911 lineage
Currently listed across CarGurus, AutoTrader, and Cars.com full multi-channel exposure
Consignment vehicle with full transparency on history
Why now:Clean 997.2 Carrera S coupes are appreciating. The 997 generation is now widely recognized as the last "analog" 911 hydraulic steering, naturally aspirated, mechanical feel and the 997.2 specifically is the buyer's pick because it carries that analog character without the engine concerns of the 997.1. Auction results on Bring a Trailer, PCarMarket, and Cars & Bids consistently show 997.2 Carrera S coupes clearing $55K$75K depending on miles and spec. This one is positioned at $49,959 at or below the floor of that range with full inspection welcome and trades considered.

    • Hard Goodbye

I was the 3rd owner of this vehicle and it was immaculate. Although I fell short of what these supposed, "Valuation Tools" came up with as a "Fair Trade",dealerships don't care one bit! If I had the patience, I could have squeezed another 10 grand if I was willing to deal with the "Joy Riders" and the sudden influx of dealer phone calls but that's all in the past. We're happy with our decision to buy this awesome machine and we have mixed emotions of letting it go. The next owner will enjoy a ride that is unmatched and a look that is as "Classic" as it comes!
    • LOVE. It's a strong word, but appropriate..!

I own a 2008 911 Turbo since 2013. I absolutely love this car! It is stunning to look at -inside and out (mine came well optioned inside :-) but more that that, it is such a joy to drive... I'll keep this brief.. -I have taken my car to a few track days with the local Porsche club, which is really the place to go to figure out what this car is capable of. Also, when I drive crazy fast on a racetrack, I find it kind of gets it out of my system, so I am much more restrained on public roads. No speeding tickets to date! The only minus I would say about this car comes from my track experience and that is that the car is relatively heavy for going around corners fast (say compared to a GT3), but that's more of an observation than a compalint, and otherwise I LOVE my 911 Turbo. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it!

Porsches have been the most reliable cars I've ever owned. Had a Boxster that had 1 issue(air oil separator $70 part) covered under warranty, which was going perfectly until totaled by a back end hit while waiting at a light. Now have a GT3 - red line it daily, lots of autocross and high speed track sessions. 85,000 miles so far. Only problem ever has been a failed water hose at 35,000 miles. Do not test drive one unless you are prepared to but it, as no other car will ever feel quite as good, solid, and just right.
